Movie night

Last night we had a living room full of people to watch some movies. First up; Lovely Bones. The movie was not as good as the book, rarely are they, and I was a little disappointed by some of the things that were in the book that were not in the movie and vice versa. I would recommend watching the movie and then reading the book for those few of you that have not done either. It was an okay movie, just not what I expected and it dragged on a bit just like the beginning of the movie. Worth seeing, yes but not more than one time. The second movie we watched was; My Sister's Keeper. I have not read the book and all I can say is WOW! Amazing movie, and yes I cried! Really makes you think as a parent-what would I do?! Cameron Diaz was very good as was all of the actors/actresses. Wonderful movie and I will be watching it again, many times I am sure!

Playing dress up for the Golden Globes

I have not seen the movie, The Blind Side, for which Sandra Bullock won her Globe, but I have read a lot about it. It seems that she has received rave reviews for her role. However, the dress that she chose to wear has received the complete opposite. In my opinion, it looks like something a young, naive 16 year old would wear to the prom. The iridescent, see through number left me hoping she was on the blind side while choosing a dress. Her arm candy, husband Jesse James, however left me wanting more. Diane Kruger was in a candy jewel tone as well and missed the mark. Her usual fashion risk personality did not work this time with the dress that looked like it had a layer of ruffled cupcake icing at the top that was melting. Julianne Moore joins the ill-dressed with what looks like a last minute dressing decision. She must have been really upset with her stylist to pull down her drapes and pin it on. The dull black did nothing to help, nor did the strappy black heels. I will "wrap up" with Tina Fey. I know she is a comedian but sometimes you need to set all jokes aside. I am not even sure where to start, the pattern of the dress, or the bow on the heels. I don't know if she is trying to feel young or just wanted to give us all a good laugh. I am betting on the laugh! Let me know your thoughts and opinions on the dresses.....
